Phlebotomy technicians are essential team members at hospitals, blood donor centers, mobile phlebotomy solutions, and diagnostic laboratories. They are responsible for the following duties:
Drawing blood from patients
Explaining blood-drawing procedure to patients and answer questions
Evaluating patients’ ability to withstand procedure
Performing basic point of care testing such as blood glucose levels
Preparing blood, urine, and other specimens for testing
Verifying patient or donor identity
Maintaining and cleaning medical equipment such as needles, test tubes, and blood vials
Classes are 2 hours long every Monday and Thursday. Tuition includes course materials, pair of scrubs and supplies. Tuition must be paid in full before you can begin the class. $500 downpayment required and non-refundable.
